Brewing fine craft beer in the heart of Wigan, in a fully restored 19th Century Grade II-listed, tower brewery and combining heritage with imagination, All Gates build on a British cask ale tradition, producing bold hop-forward beers but retaining balance and subtlety; beers with true Northern Soul.
Beer Supplied: Rule of 72 – A single hopped Experimental APA – 4.5% abv
Brewed with Experimental hop 07270 (a big bold high alpha hop), it’s like walking through Kielder Forest on a summer’s day — green, earthy, resinous & some spice — with a sweet underlying tropical fruit character. The pine carries over into the flavour, assaulting the palate with thick, juicy resin which fades away, allowing citrus fruit to make an appearance and a dry finish.
Formed in late 2014, Alphabet Brewing Company are small craft brewery based in Manchester City Centre close to Piccadilly train station. Focussing on fun beers with bold flavours, the team behind Northern Quarter bar Kosmonaut and head brewer, Tom Evans, previously of Huddersfield’s Hand Drawn Monkey, have an excitable core range of five beers with keg clips designed by local illustrator, Hammo. From oatmeal pale ale with a gun toting horse to seasonal saisons via a floating druid to a white breakfast, hipster stout, Alphabet Brewing are aiming to takeover the world, one beer at a time
Beer Supplied: Kerbkicker Saison – Saison – 5.3% abv
Kerb Kicker fermented with our French saison yeast strain that we use in our Nouvelle Saison. A unique hybrid of two beers! The beer is hoppy but tart, retaining all the characteristics of a dry, farmhouse saison. Dry “hopped” the cask with grated galangal root, giving a herbal spice and an intriguing aroma.
One of the North’s newest breweries, Atom are fundamentally a brewery dedicated to making good, flavour forward drinkable beer. We have been borne out of the passion for beers and science by Allan Rice and Sarah Thackray. Ultimately we find the process of making beer using world class ingredients, some traditional and some off the wall, the most exciting part of what we do, there is nothing better than formulating a new beer and experimenting on our kit to make it.
Beer Supplied: Pavlov’s Dog – Peach Iced Tea Blonde – 4.0% abv
40 kilos of fresh peaches and 5 kilos of Chinese white tea have been crammed into a luscious blonde ale brewed with pilsner malt, Carapils and acidulated malt. A huge hit of juicy peach and bready malt will crash across your tongue, followed by a smokey, earthy white tea that provides a tannic backbone to make you have another sup.
We make handcrafted, full-flavoured beers, using the best ingredients and innovative recipes. Beer that makes you sit up and take notice. Beer that makes you want to sing. Beer that makes you happy to be alive.

Beer Supplied: Aussie Session IPA – Pale Ale – 4.3% abv
Big upfront hop character at an easy drinking strength. Australian hops Summer, Topaz and Vic Secret make this beer a totally tropical fruit experience.
Formerly Manchester (and indeed England’s) smallest commercial brewery. Steve expanded his operation by purchasing the brewery previously used by Privateer Beers. The beer supplied was brewed on his old kit (in collboration with Clever Yeti Brewing), guaranteeing that we will have the only cask!
Beer Supplied: Sorachi Bubblegum – Imperial Stout – 9.6% abv
An imperial stout brewed with Sorachi Ace hops for a coconutty flavour along with an added secret ingredient giving it a bubblegum sweetness that dries out to a long, chocolately finish.
Graduating from working in some of Manchester’s finest pubs, to brewing at Marble Brewery, finally setting up his own brewery in 2012 barely a stones throw away from Marble (on some of their old kit!), Rob Hamilton and his small team make some adventurous and incredibly tasty beers in their railway arch off Dantzic St.
Beer Supplied: Belgian Gold (dry-hopped) – Belgian IPA – 6.0% abv
Blue Bee, Sheffield / North Riding, Scarborough
Blue Bee Brewery began brewing in Sheffield in 2011. It is now owned by Reet Ale Pubs who operste the Rutland Arms, the Closed Shop, the Three Tuns and the Punchbowl in the city. Blue Bee produce three core beers: Reet Pale 4.0%, Hillfoot Best Bitter 4.0% and Tempest Stout 4.8% on top of numerous one off specials with an emphasis on New World hops.
Beer Supplied: Little & Large – IPA (Mosaic, Citra, Sorachi) – 6.5% abv
Collaboration brew with North Riding Brewery. A golden IPA packed with American Mosaic, Citra and Sorachi Ace hops to give big citrus and tropical fruit flavours.
Brass Castle Brewery mashes grains, boils hop charges, pitches yeast, racks into casks and does an awful lot of cleaning, right in the centre of Malton.
At full tilt the microbrewery can produce 200 casks of beer a week. In addition to a wide range of cask ales, some beers are bottled and others are put into kegs. All the beer produced at Brass Castle is Vegan and Vegetarian friendly. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our brewery processes.
Beer Supplied: Mosaic – Single Hopped Pale Ale – 4.3%
A juicy-fruit Pale Ale that exploits all of the glorious pungency of the US super-hop Mosaic.
Excellently positioned on the banks of the River Irwell we are currently producing a small range of cask ales: SIBA North West Outstanding – Brewsmith Bitter, Brewsmith Pale, Anvil Ale, Brewsmith IPA and our Oatmeal Stout. Along with our seasonal specials – Nelson Sauvin Pale, Brewsmith Cascade, Brewsmith Gold and now for one brew only GYLE 50.
Beer Supplied: Nelson Sauvin Gyle 50 – Pale Ale – 5%
To celebrate our 50th brew, we have made a special 5% Pale Ale using some of our favourite hops, giving grapefruit, citrus and pine aromas.
The Cheshire Brewhouse is currently a 5BBL microbrewery based in Congleton Cheshire. Shane Swindells (Brewer) is a great believer in local products and is passionate about supporting business local to him, rather than the multinationals and the Cheshire Brewhouse strives wherever possible to use british products and suppliers when making our beers.

At the heart of our new venture is a deep love for the changing seasons, each bringing with it an invitation to enjoy the scarcity and abundance our natural environment offers.
We want to showcase the ebb and flow by using seasonal ingredients at their very best, and taking inspiration from the change of lifestyle each season creates.
Along the way there’ll be both old recipes and new experiments, as we use the best of both traditional and cutting edge techniques to create modern seasonal beer.

Cwrw Iâl Community Brewing Company is a social enterprise based in the Vale of Iâl, near Llanarmon yn Iâl, but it is more than just a community project. Is has set out to be a force to be reckoned with! They do not produce run of the mill real ale, they produce the highest quality beer with tasty ingredients. They believe in delivering the whole package, going the extra mile and working in collaboration with local businesses, artists and social enterprises.
Beer Supplied: Mana – Pale Ale – 4.3% abv
A double dry hopped Pale Ale brewed especially to coincide with THIS festival AND a New Zealand Rugby World Cup victory. Well, the brewer IS a Kiwi! Only 6 casks made. And WE snaffled one!
A new brewery based in Bolton, focusing on…well, everything. From Kölsch to IPA, Gose to ESB, we produce a variety of beer styles with our eyes always on quality.
Beer Supplied: Peterloo Porter – 5.3% abv
Full bodied, heavily hopped Porter brewed especially for the festival. Dark, rich malt base complimented by generous additions of Chinook and Cascade.
Ossett Brewery purchased the Fernandes Brewery and pub in 2007 and continued to brew many of the original beers whilst devising many new brews. The two and a half brewers barrel plant now brews about 90 different beers a year.
Beer Supplied: Soratchi Pale – Pale Ale – 4% abv
A Light golden refreshing session ale hopped with Sorachi Ace to give a crisp citrus taste.
Operating out of a Railway Arch in Sunny Salford which also contains a secret garden and reggae sound system. First Chop Brewing Arm are crafty brewers of the highest order. Producing a range of uncompromising, hop forward brews.
Beer Supplied: Name FIL – Chai Spiced Tea IPA – 4.8% abv
A Spiced Tea IPA heavily hopped with Ella, Bobek & Wai-Iti. Specially brewed with (& for) this Festival.
A tiny brewery in Prestwich, Manchester. Rarely in cask. And this will be the second time for us. Which makes us happy!
Beer Supplied: South Pacific Pale – Pale Ale – 3.6% abv
A Pale Ale hopped with Galaxy and Rakau, so expect lots of tropical fruit flavours going on!
A small (2.25 barrel) brewery located on the outskirts of Wakefield, producing mostly hop-forward beers acclaimed across Yorkshire. But rarely over here. And we have 2! Winners of last year’s Beer Of The Festival with their Raven King!

Mallinson’s Brewing Company was founded in 2008 in Lindley, Huddersfield now located in Lockwood. We produce real ales in both casks and bottles. We produce a range of core beers, single hopped beers and many different types of one-off ales.
Whiskey Oaked Bramling Porter – Porter – 4.3% abv
Bench Pale – Pale Ale – 5.2% abv
Marble brewery was set up as a 4.5 barrel plant in the spare room of the “Marble Arch Inn” in Manchester in 1997. The emphasis for Marble has always been on high quality ingredients, hop forward thinking and an idea to create beer that people want to drink and talk about. This desire to make great beer has helped the brewery to grow into the 12 barrel plant it is today. We are very excited to have welcomed Matthew Howgate as head brewer in February 2014.
Beer Supplied: Howgate & Kemp – N.Z. Pale Ale – 6.4% abv
A New Zealand hopped pale ale made in collaboration with James Kemp. The Nelson Sauvin and Motueka in FV give the beer lots of citrus aroma and then a sweet and boozy pineapple punch.
1BBL Micro Brewery based in Maghull, North Liverpool. Beer for cask, bottles & soon keg. ‘Brewed to Enjoy’. No isinglass finings used, naturally conditioned.

Sweet fresh citrus aroma and flavour with subtle bitterness on the finish. Hops used Citra, Amarillo, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial & Simcoe.

Beer Supplied: Chennai – Export Porter – 5.4% abv
Our Porter is a tribute to this great British style, dry-hopped with Chinook and Columbus for that extra punch of hop flavour over the coffee and chocolate character provided by a blend of 7 different malts.
North Riding Brewery’s first beer was brewed in March 2015 after several months of planning and preparation. We are based at Unit 9 Betton Business Park, East Ayton which is on the outskirts of Scarborough in the Derwent Valley.
A tranquil setting where our beer is brewed on a weekly basis from our 10 barrel plant. We aim to produce modern ales which are traditionally brewed from the finest ingredients.
Beer Supplied: Red Citra – Citra Hopped Red Ale – 5.0% abv
A Festival Collab. Flavours of grapefuit, lemon and mango but not the colour associated with this type of hop.(Red IPA) Think of the colour of Salford’s own Vimto – but with a shipload of Citra!

Launched officially in Late 2014 – Otherton Ales started life in Penkridge, Staffordshire on the edge of Cannock Chase, with the forest and its resident deer population inspiring what is now the brewery logo. Like many small breweries nowadays our origins are in the world of home brewing, but a desire and passion for creating and sharing good beer just grew and grew.
Beer Supplied: Turuma – Chocolate Oatmeal Porter/Weisse – 4.3% abv
A hybrid of styles, bringing together an oatmeal porter and a wheat beer into a dark, luscious, porter with a rich taste.
Quantum Brewing Company, established 2011, is a small craft microbrewery in Stockport, making ales in cask, keg and bottle. Quantum is dedicated to experimentation. We are not afraid to take a risk and brew a beer if the concept behind it is interesting, regardless of whether or not it has been brewed before. We are hugely independent.
Beer Supplied: GrailFrit – A Grapefruit Pale Ale – 4.7% abv
Made with pale malt, munich malt and oat malt, hopped with Mosaic, Apollo and had grapefruit zest and juice added to the boil, and in conditioning tank. Pithy, fruity, and dry. (And made specially for us! Woo & Hoo!)
A fast expanding 2.5bbl microbrewery located in Ramsbottom. Small batch beer has been brewed since 2011. Craft in the truest sense.

Smooth roast Stout, with gentle hints of smoke and dark fruit. Cask & Bottle Conditioned since March 2015.
A 6 Barrel brewery located at the glorious Rat & Ratchet pub in Huddersfield since 2011. Our Brewers have created Rodent themed beers to critical acclaim and won a string of Awards. In addition to regular beers, such as White Rat, many seasonal beers are brewed in many styles including the Seasonal Special below!

A microbrewery based in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Our music-inspired beer remixes expectations of styles and flavours, appealing to contemporary tastes, yet with a nod to tradition. Classic songs, albums and artists are referenced throughout the beer range, with our love of the 45rpm 7″ single being symbolized in the 4.5% ABV of a number of our beers. A Festival Collaboration with more than a nod to the classic Smiths album from 1986. A rich strong Stout full of vine fruit and licorice notes, incredibly smooth and added a sharpness by the liberal addition of Sorachi Ace. A Classic in its own right!
Runaway Brewery. Founded in 2014, one of Manchester’s newest breweries. We brew by hand in small batches and our beer is unfiltered, unpasteurised, and bottle conditioned to retain as much flavour as possible.
We want to brew great, modern beer. The kind of beer we would enjoy drinking. And making. Because brewing isn’t just about the end product, it’s about the process – the journey. So it’s worth doing right.

Three years ago co-founders Paul and George were living together at Manchester University, when they jointly invested their spare cash into a home-brewing kit. The beers were brewed in the kitchen and fermented in the basement of their student house. It wasn’t long before the pair began selling their homebrew at student house parties and it was here the first seeds of ShinDigger were planted… And we get (probably) the final cask!
Beer Supplied: West Coast Pale Ale – 4.7% abv
Loaded with hops from the American West Coast, the hop profile gives a citrus flavour true to the character of the hop growing region.
Small World started production in 2014 after many years of planning and honing our skills, first coming together after a chance meeting between Dave Hill and Pete Forder who shared a passion for beer and brewing, and over a beer or three, Small World was born.
Beer Supplied: Eleven – Pale Ale – 4.0% abv
A light and golden pale ale with citrus and grapefruit tones to the finish, named to commemorate the signing of the armistice and the end of the First World War with a donation from each pint going to the poppy appeal.
Experimental craft brewery based in Manchester. Using techniques old and new to create complex tastes and powerful sensations. Not afraid to mix it up and experiment with far out flavours. Selective about rules, because great beer can come from strange beginnings. For intrepid beer hunters on the lookout for bold flavours and brave brews.

Black IPA loaded with Chinook hops.
Brewing since 2009. Our beer won’t be for those without a sense of adventure or who consume bland crap from multinationals, it will be flavoursome, hoppy beer for those with inquiring tastebuds who want to discover new taste sensations and to find out, as our strapline goes, “What hops are for”. Rarely over “here” and glad to have them!
Beer Supplied: The Light At The End of the World – Pale Ale (124 IBUs!) – 4.5% abv
Very pale with lots of tropical fruit flavours. With 124 IBUs, there will be invigorating bitterness!
Yorkshire’s smallest brewery? Sunbeam Ales is a very small brewery based in West Leeds. I brew once a week and produce eight casks per brew.

This golden ale has six malts and honey to give it a real depth of flavour,it is loaded with El Dorado and Delta hops producing a great aroma and a long bitter finish.

TicketyBrew was started by husband and wife, Duncan and Keri Barton. With a shared love of bottled beer, we started a brewery which was inspired by our visits to Belgium. While we appreciate and love exploring the world of hops, we also believe that good flavour doesn’t need to come from hops alone.
Beer Supplied: Grodziskie – Polish inspired smoked wheat beer – 3.3% abv
Based on a traditional polish wheat beer, it is a clear wheat beer made with smoked wheat, which we’ve smoked over a whisky barrel for extra flavour.
Torrside is a brand new brewery based in New Mills, at the northern tip of Derbyshire. The product of many years of homebrewing, from classic styles to more experimental beers, the brewery’s aim is to produce a changing range of beers that are always interesting. Keep an eye out for “Fire Damage” on cask, an autumnal smoked stout that’s tailor-made for this time of year!

A dry and refreshing Pale Ale. A new Manchester classic. And dry-hopped with Simcoe, just for us!
Wapping Brewery is the located in the cellars of the historic and famous Baltic Fleet pub, on Wapping, Liverpool. The brewery has been in operation since 2001 making acclaimed award winning beers, but rarely seen in Manchester. Until now.
Beer Supplied: Autumn – Mosaic dry-hopped Red Rye Ale – 4.7% abv
Especially dry-hopped with the last of the Wapping Mosaic just for us! Expect dry and lightly spicy with a fruity hop.
Wharfe Bank Brewery was founded in April 2010 in a converted paper mill on the banks of the River Wharfe just outside the village of Pool in Wharfedale and a couple of miles from the local market town of Otley. By combining tradition with technology, experience with innovation and passion with patience, we have created a core range of wonderfully unique beers that have gained a reputation and following both locally and further afield.

Dunkelweisse; mahogany in colour, smooth in taste and with a complex aroma of banana and clove.
We are a Leeds-based, progressive, cask ale brewery founded in January 2015. Born out of a passion for drinking and writing about great beers we hope to get people drinking and talking about Britain’s national drink. We are a small team dedicated to quality and consistency.

A reddish copper coloured beer with an initial malt sweetness and smokey dry finish.
Wilson Potter is a 6 BBL micro-brewery based in Middleton run by friends Amanda Seddon & Kathryn Harrison. They both brew, and produce a variety of styles of full-flavoured beer. With 6 regular beers, another 6 beers brewed more occasionally & a number of one-off specials that are thrown in when the mood takes them, you can find their award-winning beers in cask all over the Manchester area.
